Soil is the secret to thriving plants. I know what your soil needs to give it the perfect structure and texture to suit your favourite plants.
Plus I know what time of year to treat your soil to put your plants in good stead. Bulbs and succulents like a free-draining soil and others like hostas and certain ferns really like the soil moist.

How we work
Spring
We're getting more and more hours of sunshine at this time of year and this means your soil’s warming up nicely; the perfect root conditions for planting. This goes for larger garden trees as well as smaller pot plants.
Summer
Here's where I like to get really creative with your favourite annual flowers, popping tall plants like sunflowers to the back of the border and pretty, more petite flowers like lobelia to the front. What a show!
Autumn
I love a good autumn planting session! The soil was warming up in spring, and it's cooling down again at this time of year so it’s a perfect time to plant flowers and shrubs; not too hot and not too cold.
Winter
Some of your favourite flowers might just succumb to our unpredictable winters; where I can I’ll lift tender plants like pelargoniums (tender geraniums) out of the ground and pop into containers for the greenhouse.
